calyx The outer part (perianth) of the flower, usually green and formed of several divisions called sepals, that protects the bud.

calyx bract A bract which takes the form of a petal or sepal.

calyx lobe The portion of the sepal which is apical, or remains free, in a fused calyx.

calyx tube (alt. calyx-tube) A tube formed partly by the united bases of the sepals and partly by the receptacle. See also: hypanthium.
