- cell
- One of the minute vesicles of protoplasm consisting typically of nucleus, cytoplasm, and, in the plant cell, photosynthetic pigments, all enclosed by a cell wall. Any structure containing a cavity, as the cells of an anther or ovary, etc.

- cell membrane (syn. plasma membrane, syn. plasmalemma)
- A semipermeable limiting layer of cell protoplasm.

- cell system pasturing
- An attempt to replicate the method of natural grazing by bison. Livestock are placed in one section or cell of pasture with access to water until all vegetation is eaten or trampled to the ground, then moved to the next section. A common pattern features 10 cells with livestock moved monthly so each section is grazed in different months each year to encourage increase of ice cream grasses. - cellular
- Composed of short, transparent, thin-walled cells, distinct from fibrous or vascular cells.

- cellulose
- The complex carbohydrate that is the principal component of cell walls of plants.

- albuminous cell
- A gymnosperm phloem parenchyma cell closely associated with an adjacent sieve cell.

- angular cells
- See also: alar.

- germ cell
- A reproductive cell, or gamete, or a cell that will develop into a reproductive cell, such as a spermatocyte or an oocyte.

- guard cells
- The two cells that bound a stoma and by opening and closing allow gas exchange.

- median leaf-cells
- Cells from the middle of the leaf.
|
- mother-cell
- The cell that gives rise to a particular structure or particular reproductive units.

- totipotential cells
- A cell capable of regenerating an entire organism.
