commercial synonym1. An alternative choice of a legitimate name for a cultivar. 2. A shortened form of the original name, used where the original name is not conducive to sales, e.g., Ilex vomitoria. 3. A sales name chosen by the originator of the cultivar or with the originator's approval.

- Additional Passes: If there are no hits in the first search, common word endings (-ing, -es, -ed, -ly) are stripped from the keywords and a second pass is made. If there is still no match, all non-word characters are stripped.
