A hurricane or typhoon; winds blowing counterclockwise in the northern hemisphere and clockwise in the southern hemisphere, at sp.s of 90 to 130 miles per hour (150 to 217 km/hr) around a calm center, with a forward thrust of 20-30 mph (33-50 km/hr) and a width of 50 to 900 miles (83-1500 km) diameter. 2. Popularly, any storm moving in a circular motion like a tornado.
